The Mirage of Time Management

Many would say that they simply don’t have enough time in the day.

Others try to save time.

Others make time.

Still others have these super complicated time management time-management techniques and tricks that I simply don’t have time to learn.

But here’s something interesting I’ve learned about time management:
IT DOESN’T EXIST!!!

Now before you decide to go postal on my butt, let me explain…

Time is not a commodity that can be saved, bought, or sold. It can only be spent. And you can spend it only 1 of 2 ways: wisely and foolishly

To spend it wisely is to invest your time, but to spend it foolishly is to waste it.

So how can I spend my time more wisely (i.e. invest and not waste)?

I heard it best by Jeffery Combs. He says that it’s not really time management, but managing yourself in time.

What he means by that is that we should focus more on what WE do than the TIME it takes to do it. If you put the focus on doing as well as you can, then not only will you be able to do things in a given time frame, but you will have much better results!

This post was inspired by my poor management of myself in my time. I hope it suits you well.
